SSProenza Schouler10
Promising Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 line Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough designed looks that their muses and inspirational friends are eager to wear. Their collaborative approach with fashion makes them combine their individual style into a challenging performance. One designer may sew patterns inspired by nature while the other sketches figures inspired by hardware and machinery, describe as naturally mechanic or the industrialization of nature. The end result is cohesive, the audience, clients, editors, buyers and etc understand their work as design narrative making relevance to the market and/or their wardrobe. but how do Hernandez and McCollough make sense of their collection? and how do they construct one collection born from two different ideas? Well ! they make separate inspiration boards with same images, they isolate for a specific amount of time (a few weeks) and when they reunite , present their ideas and sketches to each other forming a union of ideas well worth. An impeccable collaboration comes down the runway in their Spring 2010 collection, reconstructed shirts made into dress, knotted at the hip and waist. Bright and bold electric colors animal print, feathers and sequins, can clearly express their ideas and creative voice.
